Many smokers find it difficult to stop the habit. In fact there are those who have stated that they have tried countless times to stop but to no avail. Many fail in this venture because of expecting instant results. Smoking is a habit that in most cases starts in a small way until the smoker is fully addicted to smoking. To stop the habit will take reasonable amount of time to come out completely. The following simple step may be of help to those struggling with smoking and are ready to stop. Let your smoking routine be far spaced. When the urge to smoke knocks, take a walk or try another activity to wade off the temptation. The more you ignore the thought and the urge the further you walk away from the habit.

Dont just set a long goal to quit smoking. Starting a long period may drain your efforts and you may seem as if you are not progressing towards your goal. Each day remind yourself of the deadline. The closer you approach this deadline, be hard on yourself as far as your mission is concerned. You want to quit and you must quit. Never allow for other options or giving up. Associate with people who have either conquered the habit or those who have the interest in you stopping the habit.
